Hello there! We are Guide Dogs of Hawaii and have proudly served Hawaii’s blind and visually impaired residents since 1955. Our goal is to help our blind and visually impaired friends and family members of all ages lead meaningful and productive lives through the use of appropriate aids, proper training, and opportunities. We understand that each person’s journey is unique, which is why we work closely with the individual and their support network to identify their specific needs and create customized solutions to overcome challenges as they adjust to many life changes. The best part? Your continuity services are all free of charge!

Our services in Hawaii encompass comprehensive support for visually impaired individuals of all ages, including youth and adults. We offer technology, adaptive aids, wellness programs, guide dog support, and peer group connections, all designed to empower and improve the quality of life for the visually impaired community.

Our unique youth services in Hawaii not only provide technology and adaptive aids, but also create social opportunities that are tailored to the needs of visually impaired youth. These services have a profound impact, empowering these young individuals and enhancing their quality of life.

ADULT SERVICES

Our comprehensive adult services in Hawaii cover a wide range of needs for visually impaired adults, including wellness, independent living, technology, mobility, and positive aging, providing a sense of reassurance and confidence.

GUIDE DOGS SERVICES

We assist guide dog handlers in Hawaii in maintaining optimal wellness and performance with their guide dogs by providing ongoing O&M training, guide dog veterinary care, and nutritional support. We also assist individuals in preparing for their guide dog training to increase their chances of success.

PEER GROUP

Our peer support groups meet monthly and are crucial in helping the visually impaired in Hawaii lead more meaningful and productive lives. They instill hope and optimism by providing a sense of belonging, sharing resources and ideas, and exchanging knowledge.
